Mission 002: Return to Roots: Acknowledging Native American Lands that We Live On

  • How might we acknowledge and honor the Native American lands we live on?

  • We live on ancestral lands of the Native American people. We believe it is important to acknowledge the history, culture and heritage of these lands at schools, parks and public spaces.

  • Indigenous peoples like the Ohlone have cared for our local hills, creeks, and wildlife for thousands of years. By learning their story and putting up simple, eye-catching signs at school, we can help everyone remember whose land we share. When we speak up, principals and community leaders are more likely to start meetings with a respectful land-honor statement. Together, we can keep this history alive and show real gratitude.
